JOB POSTING: BRAG Social Media Manager

Job Summary:

The Blue Ridge Apple Growers Association is a non-profit dedicated to promoting and supporting farmers growing apples in Henderson County. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social Media Manager to leverage social media to reach a larger audience, foster engagement and contribute to the industry’s growth by sharing farmer’s stories, marketing products, educating consumers and building a positive image of farming.

Key Responsibilities:

-Attend all regular BRAG board meetings and special programs

-Attend the Southeast Winter Apple School and assist as needed, held the 1st Tuesday and Wednesday of February. 

-Establish or manage social media accounts on relevant platforms; Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.

-Create content for social media at a minimum of once per week, across all platforms. Respond to comments and direct messages as needed, follow the sponsors and members. Work with the Board for content ideas, share relevant information and encourage participation from members for events and issues. Communicate with BRAG Executive Secretary to share/distribute any time sensitive information.

-Promote BRAG as an organization and will not serve as advertising for any particular member or their business. Members can be recognized for achievements and farming activities/practices, but not to advertise or promote their business.

-Explore innovative ways to encourage visitation to the BRAG social media platforms and drive engagement. Investigate potential boosts and advertising opportunities to bring to the Board for approval.

-Visit member farms as needed to obtain content to post on social media. Look for ways to engage both retail and wholesale members in social media posts.

-Collect video and photos from members to use for content.

Requirements:

-Proven success on Facebook and Instagram growing followers, increasing reach and engagement.
